Member Handicaps

A golf handicap index measures an amateur player’s ability to play golf. In short, a handicap is calculated as the average number of strokes above par a player is likely to score for any given round.

In our Society, we have the following rules which we’ve found over the years to be fair and facilitate a good spread of winners throughout each season’s fixtures.

  • The winner of each competition is cut by 1 shot (regardless of total pts scored)
  • Players scoring more than 36 pts are cut according to the table below
  • Players scoring 30 – 36pts will maintain their current handicap
  • Players scoring less than 30 pts will have their handicaps increased according to the table below
  • For calculations, all non-scoring holes (blobs), count as 1 Stableford point each

2 7 – 13.9 0.2
